Registering your QFC company with the Qatar Immigration & Labour Departments

1. eServices

All service requests are initiated through the eServices Portal
 
If you are a newly registered company, it would be best to first meet with the Client Affairs team to help guide you through the initial immigration steps and answer all of your questions.

2. MoI Form

After the submission of all initiation documents, the QFC Immigration department will prepare a Ministry of Interior (MoI) form. The form will need to be signed and stamped (with company stamp) by the company's Authorised Signatory.

3. Temporary Company Computer Card

The first service request submitted by newly registered companies is the “Temporary Computer Card” issued by the Ministry of Interior (MoI).

 

  1. This step would be required only if your company's Authorised Signatory is a non-Qatari or GCC national.
  2. This process usually takes around 5 working days after the submission of all required documents.

4. Ministry of Labour Account

When the Temporary Computer Card is issued, the QFC immigration department will contact the Ministry of Labour in order to create an account for the company to process working visas for the company’s employees.

 

Processing

Between 5 and 10 working days.

 

5. Signatory Work Visa

After a Ministry of Labour account is created, the Authorised Signatory will apply for a "Working Visa". Once issued, the applicant will have to enter Qatar on that Working Visa.

6. Signatory Resident Permit (RP)

Once in Qatar, the Work Visa will need to be converted into a Resident Permit (RP). You must submit a request through the eServices Portal. A medical check-up is also required so make sure you carefully follow the references below for required documents and processing times.
  

Important

Please take into consideration that the the applicant must remain in the country during the conversion of their status from Work Visa to a Resident Permit.

 

Processing

For newly registered companies, the first working visa being applied for can take up to or more than 10 business day.

7. Permanent Company Computer Card

Once the Authorised Signatory’s Resident Permit is granted from the MoI, your company can then apply for a permanent Company Computer Card.

Qatari Nationals

Qatari nationals can skip steps 3 to 6 above.


The QFC Immigration can proceed with issuance of your Permanent Company Computer Card without them.

Residency Services Overview

Moving to Qatar

Employment of workers in Qatar is governed by the Labour Law, administered by the Labour Department of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. Persons intending to work in Qatar require a work visa and then a residency permit.

With the help of a dedicated immigration office at QFC, obtaining the residency permit for you, your family, and your employees is easy and hassle-free.

Living in Qatar

A Qatar residency permit allows foreign nationals to stay and work in Qatar over a longer period of time and provides them with access to a range of important services.

With a residence permit you and your employees can sign a rental accommodation agreement, apply for a loan, buy a car, open a bank account, get a Qatari driving license, and apply for other important permits within the country.

Residency Permit Services

Applying for New Resident Permit

 

1. Submit Resident Permit (RP) eService Request

For (New) Employee & Exit Permit applicants, kindly note that you can apply for a Resident Permit for a maximum validity of (3) three years. Refer to the QFC Immigration Service (IS) Guide, IS-301 to IS-306 for further details.

2. Submit Medical Check-Up eService Request

A medical check-up is required for the RP. You will need to submit this request along with the RP eService Request. Please refer to QFC Immigration Service Guide IS-113 & IS-114 for further details.

 

3. Biometrics

On the same date of medical appointment, applicant will be advised to visit QFC headquarters for fingerprinting process prior to being escorted to medical clinic.

 

4. Submit Medical Check-Up Receipt to Client Affairs

Once the medical check-up is completed and medical receipt has been obtained from medical clinic, the applicant will need to submit the medical receipt to Client Affairs to begin the process of the Resident Permit. Fingerprint form will be ready within 24 hours.

 

5. Sign MoI Form

Your company will be notified of the final stage of the Resident Permit which requires applicant signature on MoI form prior to receiving Resident Permit and Exit Permit.

 

6. Multiple Exit Permit

Upon the issuance of the Resident Permit with Qatari ID, the Client Affairs team will process Multiple Exit Permit request and the applicant will be notified accordingly.

Applying for Transfer of Sponsorship

 

1. Gather Required Documents

Please refer to QFC Immigration Service (IS) Guide, service requests IS -35, 36, 37 for further details.

 

2. Submit eService Request

The applicant must submit a 'Transfer of Sponsorship' request through the QFC eServices Portal for

Once all required documents are submitted, the request will be processed and your company will be notified of final stage which requires applicant to sign the MoI form before service request completion.

 

4. Multiple Exit Permit

Once the Resident Permit is issued with Qatari ID, the Client Affairs team will process Multiple Exit Permit request and applicant will be notified accordingly.
